Our Story

Our Story – A Home with a Heart

This museum wasn’t built from scratch — it was born from a real home filled with memories.

The house that now hosts the Baan Kudichin Museum once belonged to my aunt. Built over 80 years ago during the reign of King Rama VII, it was constructed by a skilled Chinese carpenter named Phuk. After my aunt and uncle passed away, the house stood empty. Her son, my cousin, had already moved his family away from Kudichin, but he didn’t want to sell the house to just anyone. This was the home where he was born and raised — he couldn’t bear to see it changed by strangers.

One evening, while watering plants outside my own house just across the street, I found myself gazing at that quiet, locked house. I wasn’t thinking of ghosts or anything spooky — just memories. My husband, watering plants alongside me, was looking at the same house. Almost as if we shared the same thought, we both said: “What if we turn it into a small museum?”

And just like that, the seed was planted. We reached out to my cousin, and… well, the rest is history.
